About This Art

“Swingin’ sixties” redhead w/ a beehive hairdo & a long cigarette holder, wearing a mustard yellow gown (designed by me). Many people smoked in the 50’s/60’s, before its harmful effects were known. The colors in the painting are the typical colors used in the 60's. The pink color called “Mamie pink” then, named after Mamie Eisenhower, the First Lady from 1953-1961 who favored this color. You can see this color used in the tile of many bathrooms during this era. Acrylic ink, pencil, ink on paper
