About This Art

It’s 6:00 a.m. Christmas morning, 2020, and I’m giving myself a Christmas gift—drawing this portrait of one of my favorite people, Dolly Parton, who happens to be exactly my age and my height. She did actually say, “I never met a rhinestone I didn’t like”—my sentiments, exactly, Dolly. By all accounts not only is she a country music superstar, but a good human as well. That counts a lot for me. Charcoal on tinted paper.
