No. 3 from my series “Famous Flirts”—a surrealistic yet whimsical portrait of Catherine Howard (1521-1542), the 5th wife (of 6) of King Henry VIII of England. She was ordered beheaded by Henry, ostensibly for adultery. He was 48, & impotent, & she was about 19 or 20. This work was also inspired by the classic progressive rock album by Rick Wakeman, "The Six Wives of Henry VIII" which has been a favorite of mine since it came out in 1973.
