Ayn Rand (1905-1982) is one of the most famous philosopher/writers ever, even though she wrote only three novels (but also other non-fiction work). Published in 1957, “Atlas Shrugged,” considered her magnum opus, is more popular today than when it was published. I currently have mixed feelings about her philosophy she calls “objectivism” (explained in her own words on my portrait of her). It took her 16 years to write “Atlas Shrugged”—and, at over 1,100 pages, almost that long to read!
