Franklin Delano Roosevelt served an unprecedented 3 full terms as president, plus part of a 4th term, until he died at 63 in '45. He won a landslide victory over incumbent Hoover in '33; considered among the greatest of American presidents, but also the object of much criticism. He brought in the “New Deal" (relief/recovery from the Great Depression), & led the country thru World War II. He initiated development of the atom bomb, the United Nations, Social Security & the FDIC.
