This is a portrait of a beautiful Black woman in jewelry of my design. I started out using a photo of RuPaul as inspiration, but this is not actually a portrait of Ru. I think RuPaul is one of the wonders of the world, stunningly beautiful when fully made up and dressed in “drag”—a gorgeous female, however s/he came to be and whatever the pronouns used.
