Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. ("Teddy") was the 26th president of the U.S. (1901-1909). He was a conservationist, statesman, naturalist, historian & writer who served as Vice President under McKinley. He became the youngest person to assume the presidency at age 42, following the assassination of McKinley. He died in 1919 at age 60, & is considered among the 5 best presidents. His face is one of the 4 presidents represented in the carving on Mount Rushmore along w/ Washington, Jefferson, & Lincoln.
